DETAILED ITINERARY

 

Day 1
On arrival at Entebbe International Airport you will be met by a representative from African Secrets Limited. You will the drive to your lodge/hotel. If your flight arrives in the morning, you will embark on the city tour and visit prominent places and some of Kampala's historical sites with the help of your guide. This city tour will feature sites like Kasubi Tombs, Wamala tombs, Namugongo Martyrs Shrine, Museums and craft shops. Or Visit Uganda Wildlife Education Centre. Dinner and overnight at Cassia Lodge/Holiday Express.


Day 2
After breakfast, you will transfer to Jinja where the mighty Nile begins its long journey to the Mediterranean Sea. Visit the Ssezibwa Falls before heading to the source of the Nile. After a full safety demonstration; you will then have a ½ day adventure of white water rafting. Return to Kampala for your dinner and over night at Cassia Lodge/Holiday express.


Day 3
You will be picked from your hotel in Kampala and drive via Bombo and Masindi town to Murchison falls National Park.  Have lunch at Masindi before proceeding to Murchison falls National Park through Kichumbanyobo gates. You will take a drive to the “Top of the falls” for a breathtaking sight of the raging Nile as it forces its way through a rocky gap barely six meters wide. This is the point where the Nile River detonates through a narrow gorge and cascades down to become a placid river.  Dinner and overnight stay at Paraa safari Lodge / Nile Safari Camp/ Sambiya River lodge/ Red Chillis Camp.


Day 4
Go for an early morning game drive on the Northern Bank of the Murchison Falls National Park. You may be able to view animals that are unique to the African Savannah like giraffe, elephant, antelope, lion, and the Uganda Kob. Return to the lodge for mid morning breakfast, as you relax to wait for Lunch.
After lunch, you will go for a launch cruise on the Nile River. The cruise takes you to the Bottom of the roaring falls where you will see huge crocodiles, schools of hippos, buffaloes, elephants and a variety of water birds like herons, ducks, cormorants, bee-eaters, skimmers, kingfishers, fish eagle and the rare shoebill. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight at Paraa safari Lodge / Nile Safari Camp/ Sambiya River lodge/ Red Chillis Camp.


Day 5
Today you will travel to Fort Portal town, through the villages and beautiful scenery of the verdant country side. Pass through the Albertine escarpment which is the smallest point of Uganda. You will have lunch en route and you will arrive late in the afternoon. In the evening you will have local guides for walks around the farms, to the Mahoma Water fall, and the Walks will take you around crater rims, past alcohol brewing in oil drums, through banana plantations, coffee terraces, plots of cassava, groundnuts, sorghum and millet. Then after, relax for the rest of the evening, dinner and overnight at Ndali Lodge/ Primates Lodge/ Rwenzori View Guest House/ Kanyankyu Ecological Bandas.


Day 6
In the morning you will assemble at Kanyankyu tourist centre for briefing from the Ranger guides before you go for chimpanzee tracking in the Kibale tropical rain forest. While tracking the chimps, you may come across other primates and mammals like the Red tailed monkeys, black and white colobus monkeys, the Blue Mangabeys, Bushbucks, Warthogs, Bush pigs, Duikers, Golden cats among others, several bird species including African Pita, Warbler, and Blue headed sun bird among others.  Dinner and over night at Ndali Lodge/ Primates Lodge/ Rwenzori View guest house.


Day 7
Leave Kibale after breakfast for the crown and hot springs.  The drive is a 2-4
hours. This will be the day in the pygmy villages located near the Ituri
Rainforest. The visit to the villages has proven to be an appealing cultural
experience. You take a tour to the Hot Springs from where you will visit
the Pygmies. The guide will carry packed lunch for you so that you have a
Picnic lunch while you experience the True Africa. Afterwards, you will be
transferred back to Fortportal. Dinner and overnight at Rwenzori View Guest House or Rujuni Guest House.


Day 8
After an early breakfast, you'll leave for Fort portal to visit the Kings Royal tombs and various cultural groups including the Burungu community which is rooted in Traditional Toro culture that will entertain you with music, dancing and story telling.
Spend the whole half day with the local community and on village walks/tours and in the afternoon you will be transferred to Queen Elizabeth National Park for Dinner and over night at Institute of Ecology.


Day 9
After a cup of coffee, embark on an early morning game drive along Kasenyi track and Queens mile in the park and expect to see Lions, Elephants, cape buffalo, Warthogs, leopard, hyena, mangoose, waterbucks, Uganda kobs, Topi and lots many small animals and birds.
After lunch, enjoy the unique evening 2-hour boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel and into Lake Edward. This trip passes through possibly the highest concentration of Hippos and many animals may be seen drinking at the water's edge. This launch cruise offers an excellent platform for photography, bird watching and game viewing. The prolific bird life is colourful and fantastic with well over 550 resident species. Return for dinner and over night.


Day 10
Today you will depart for Bwindi, through the southern sector of the park; here you will be viewing the famous tree climbing lions as the rest up in the large forest trees.  You will have lunch and then go for a community walk through the near by villages. Overnight at Gorilla Resort/Buhoma community Bandas.


Day 11
An early breakfast after which you proceed to the park offices for a briefing, then continue on for the trek. Trek, with your guide, to find the family of Gorillas and view these wonderful apes in their nature habitat. Make sure you carry with you packed lunch and water. Depending on the time you will spend while trekking you may decide to take another activity at an extra cost.  Transfer to your lodge for dinner and overnight at Gorilla Resort/Buhoma community Bandas.


Day 12
Drive through Uganda’s rolling green hills to Lake Mburo National park. You will have lunch and go for an afternoon boat ride on Lake Mburo. Dinner and overnight at Rwonyo Rest Camp/Mantana Tented Camp.


Day 13
In the morning you will go for a game drive before transferring back to Kampala, then to Entebbe for dinner and overnight at Central Inn/Bomma Guest house.


Day 14
Take a visit to the chimpanzees’ island! This day trip includes boat transportation from Entebbe, UWEC visits and viewing of chimpanzees being fed on the visitors’ plat form and viewing of traditional fishing villages. You will be picked up from your hotel in Entebbe in the morning and then take a boat ride to the Island. Upon arrival at Ngamba Island, you will be greeted by the duty caregiver of the Chimpanzees and then after you will be able to view these fascinating apes in their natural environment from only a few metres away! In the afternoon you will take a boat ride back to Entebbe and return to your hotel for dinner and over night.


Day 15:  To the Airport.
You will be dropped to the airport for your next flight back home
